In conjunction with the Shawsheen Valley Technical High School business administration office and facilities, several “House Doctor” projects have been undertaken over the years. Due to the age of the existing facility, many areas require upgrades to assist in maintaining programs and general upkeep of the facility built in the 1960s. All the projects require coordination and study of the existing conditions of the space and demonstrate the ability of LYF Architects to work with contractors during construction when unknown conditions are revealed, and then to work as a team to address them in the most cost-efficient manner.
Each project requires the interaction between the school teaching staff, facilities staff, and the business administration staff as each has separate priorities which must be synthesized into an understandable format and discussed to determine the proper program scope of work desired that meets the school’s needs.
